Preparing iPads for Usage

Preparing iPads for Usage

Tablets (iPads) are shared devices that are used by your staff to collect orders, view the prep report in the kitchen, and also collect feedback from residents. Note that for other important functions such as changing resident information or setting menus, shared tablets should not be used and instead the relevant staff are encouraged to use their own work accounts on work computers/devices.

Embrayse is a web app and as such, it can simply be used in the browser (usually Safari) without much setup. However the following settings will help with making it easier for your staff to access and use Embrayse:

  1. Go to the Contacts app and ensure a contact exists for the shared account you have created for Embrayse. If it doesn't exist, create a new contact, ensuring the shared account email is added.

  2. Go to Settings > General > AirPlay & Handoff and toggle off Handoff. This ensures that Safari tabs are not shared between devices, which can cause confusion.

  3. Go to Settings > Passwords > Password Options and ensure Autofill Password is toggled on.

  4. Go to Settings > Safari and make the following changes:
    1. Under Tabs select Compact Tab Bar
    2. Under Close Tabs and select After One Day
    3. Under AutoFill toggle on User Contact Info and select the contact you created in the Contacts app for My Info.
    4. Ensure Show Favourites Bar is toggle off.

  5. Navigate to https://food.embrayse.com in Safari. Before signing in, use the share button next to the address bar, then Add to Home Screen to create a home screen link for Embrayse.

  6. Now log into Embrayse using your shared account credentials. Be sure to select Save Password when prompted to avoid having to type in the password each time in the future.
