Enabling TV menus
To begin using TV menu boards, you must first enable this service from Settings > TV Menu Boards in Embrayse:
- Under TV URLs, select Create. Embrayse creates a set of unique URLs for your menu board. Each TV opens one of these URLs to show the menu.
If the URLs already exist, the button shows Renew instead. Renewing creates new URLs, and the old URLs stop working. You then need to enter the new URL on every TV. - Choose the URL that matches how the TV is mounted:
- Normal – image is already upright – Use this for most TVs. It works in landscape or portrait.
- Sideways – image top on the left – Use this if the TV is on its side and the top of the picture is on the left.
- Sideways – image top on the right – Use this if the TV is on its side and the top of the picture is on the right.
- Under Services to show, select meal services that you want to present on the TV. For example, you may decide to only show Lunch and Dinner services.
- Under Display time, choose how long each screen stays on the TV:
- Each menu page – How long each page of the menu shows.
- Each poster – How long each poster shows.
- Under Posters, select Upload and choose an image file (PNG or JPG). Posters are optional. They can include resident photos, birthday reminders, or important notices. You can change them at any time.
- Use the dropdown under each poster to choose how often it shows:
- Always show – The poster shows after every loop of the menu.
- Rotate – The poster takes turns with the other Rotate posters, one per loop.
- Drag a poster by its handle to change the order it shows in. To delete a poster, select Remove.
- For a meal to appear on the TV menu board, select Show on TV under Visibility when you create or edit the meal. See Creating and Managing Meals.
Tip: Posters shrink or grow to fit the screen. Make each poster the same shape as the TV (landscape or portrait). This avoids black bars around the poster.
