Orders Report

Orders Report

The Orders Report shows what residents are ordering, where they are dining, and any custom orders placed over a selected date range. Use it to spot trends in meal preferences and monitor dining patterns across your facility.

To open the Orders Report, select Insights from the main menu, then select the Orders tab.

Date Range and Facility

Two controls at the top of the report apply to all sections:
  • Sites – Select one or more facilities to include. By default, all facilities are shown. Only facilities you have a role in appear in this list.
  • Date – Set the date range for the report. By default this covers the last 12 months through to one month from today. Update this to the period you are interested in before reading the report.

Filtering by Resident

The Residents table in the top-left lists all residents within the selected facilities and date range. Selecting a resident filters every other section of the report to show data for that resident only. Select the same row again to clear the filter.

Section Filters

Each section of the report has its own set of filters. To activate the filters for a section, select its title. The Filters pane on the right will update to show the filters available for that section.

What Residents Are Choosing to Eat

This table shows which menu items were ordered during the selected period. For example, you could use it to:
  • Identify popular and less popular meals based on average orders
  • Estimate expected order volumes when re-running a previous menu
  • Investigate an individual resident's eating patterns – for example, if a resident has been losing weight, select their name in the Residents table to see what they have been ordering
ColumnDescription
ItemThe name of the menu item
AppearanceHow many times this item appeared on the menu during the period
Total OrdersThe total number of times this item was ordered
Avg OrdersThe average number of orders per menu appearance

To filter this section, select the What residents are choosing to eat title and use the Filters pane. Available filters:
  • Meal Service – filter by breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc.
  • Item Category – filter by category such as Main or Side

Where Residents Are Dining

This section shows the split between meals consumed in residents' own rooms and meals consumed in a dining room. For example, you could use it to track whether changes to the dining environment are encouraging more residents to dine in communal areas.

The pie chart shows the overall breakdown across all selected residents and facilities. The table below breaks this down further by wing.

Custom Orders

A custom order is placed when a staff member uses the Other option during order collection and adds a note describing what the resident wants. This table lists each individual custom order for the selected period:

ColumnDescription
SiteThe facility
ResidentThe resident's name
DateThe date of the order
ServiceThe meal service
NotesThe custom order note entered by staff

To filter this section, select the Custom Orders title and use the Filters pane. Available filters:
  • Notes – filter by note text
  • Meal Service – filter by meal service

Custom Order Summary

This table shows the total count of each unique custom order note across the selected period. For example, you could use these two sections together to:
  • Identify recurring requests that could be added to the regular menu
  • Highlight any misuse of the Other option

To filter this section, select the Custom Order Summary title and use the Filters pane. Available filters:
  • Notes – filter by note text
  • Count – filter by count

Exporting to Excel

Each section of the report can be exported separately.
  1. Hover over the section you want to export. A (More options) button appears in the top-right corner of that section.
  2. Select , then select Export data.
  3. Leave the default settings (Data with current layout, .xlsx) and select Export.

The file downloads to your device. Any filters you have applied are reflected in the exported data.
