Understanding the Resident List

Understanding the Resident List

When you open the Embrayse staff app, the resident list is the first screen you'll see. This list shows all current residents at your facility and provides a quick overview of their meal order status for the selected date.

What You'll See on the Resident List

The resident list displays the following information for each resident:

Resident Information:
  • Name - The resident's full name (or preferred name if set)
  • Room number - Displayed in the right column
  • Location/wing - The area or wing of the facility

Status Badges:
  • Birthday indicator - A 🎂 emoji appears next to the name for upcoming birthdays (today, tomorrow, or in 2 days)
  • Away - Resident is temporarily away from the facility
  • Archived - Resident profile is archived (if the archived filter is enabled)
  • Check-in due - Service check-in feedback is due for this resident

Order Status Indicators:
  • One circular indicator per meal service (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, etc.) showing the order collection status for the selected date

Understanding Order Status Indicators

Each resident has one circular indicator per meal service, with headers Br for breakfast, Lu for lunch and Dr for dinner. To see what each indicator means, tap the ? (help icon) in the table header.
  • Empty Circle
Nothing ordered yet for this meal service. You still need to collect an order from this resident
  • Half-Filled Circle
No main dish ordered (only sides or extras have been added). You may want to follow up to ensure they have a complete meal
  • Filled Circle
Main dish ordered. The resident has a complete order and no action is needed
  • "R"
Main dish ordered as a regular item (automatically applies on specified days). You should still check in with them to see if they want their usual order or would like to change it
  • "S"
Meal skipped. The resident will not be eating this meal service and no order needs to be collected

Changing the Date

By default, the resident list shows order statuses for today. You can change the date to view orders for past dates or collect orders for future dates.

Navigate Day by Day:
  • Tap the left arrow to go to the previous day.
  • Tap the right arrow to advance to the next day.

Select a Specific Date:
  • Tap the date itself to open a date picker and choose any date.

Return to Today:
  • Select "Go to Today" to quickly jump back to the current date (this button appears when viewing a past or future date).

The date picker displays "Today" when viewing the current date, or the day name and date (e.g., "Mon 23 Jan") for other dates.

This is useful for:
  • Advance ordering - Collecting orders for tomorrow or the next few days
  • Planning - Seeing which residents still need orders collected for upcoming dates
  • Review - Checking past order collection to verify completion

Selecting a Resident

To view a resident's dietary profile and manage their meal orders:
  1. Tap anywhere on the resident's row in the list.
  2. The resident's order page will open, showing their dietary profile and meal orders.
You can also use keyboard navigation - press Enter or Space when a resident row is focused.
